Meet the Team
Kayla Kim Votapek 김난주
Founder, Writer, and Cultural Healing Practitioner
Kayla Kim Votapek 김난주 (she/her) is a Korean American adoptee, multidisciplinary theatre artist, storyteller, healer, and founder whose work centers identity, belonging, and radical love. Rooted in the Korean principles of 인 (In), 연 (Yun), and 인연 (In-Yun)—self, art–life harmony, and fateful connection—she creates performances, collaborative projects, and community-centered experiences that guide people through self-discovery, creative expression, and relational healing.
Her work begins with In—the quiet ground of self-knowing and reclaimed identity—blooms through Yun, where life and art are inseparable, and is carried by In-Yun, the unseen threads connecting people and stories across time. Guided by the ideology of The Art of Being Human, Kayla develops art and programming that bridges cultures and histories, invites deep communal dialogue, and transforms personal and collective memory into acts of healing and liberation.
Through storytelling, creative practice, and community leadership, she creates soft spaces to land and brave spaces to grow, helping those living in the in-between reclaim their voice, reconnect with their roots, and come home to themselves. Her work is a living integration of healing, artistry, and human connection, where belonging is not a destination but an ever-unfolding practice of presence, creativity, and relational depth.
